Causes & Symptoms
Asafoetida has marked action in relieving flatulence. There is difficulty in bringing up wind.
There is flatulence with regurgitation of liquid.
Asafoetida also helps in hysterical flatulence with distension of stomach. There is sensation of emptiness and weakness in the abdomen.
There is gurgling and rolling of wind which escapes afterwards with loud and difficult eructation.
Asafoetida is also suitable in rectal problems when the rectum is distended and there is absolute constipation.
There is pain in perineum as if something dull pressed out. Asafoetida also helps in diarrhea which is extremely offensive with flatulence and regurgitation of food.
Asafoetida also helps in caries of bones when there is darting pain and ulcers affecting bones. The periosteum is painful, swollen and enlarged.
Head
Asafoetida patients are Irritable, sensitive, Boring above eyebrows and complaints of pressing pain from within outward.
Eyes
Asafoetida relieves Boring pains in and around eyes. It is indicated for Syphilitic iritis. Superficial corneal ulcer with digging pains; worse at night.
Ears
Asafoetida checks offensive otorrhoea, with boring pains in mastoid bone.
Offensive, purulent discharge from ears are well relieved by Asafoetida.
Nose
Asafoetida is indicated for checking offensive purulent discharge, Caries of nasal bones.
Throat
Sensation as if peristaltic motion were reversed, and oesophagus were driven from stomach to throat indicates Asafoetida.
Stomach
Great difficulty in bringing up wind indicates Asafoetida.

Asafoetida relieves Itching, better scratching; ulcers painful on edges. Suppressed skin symptoms produce nervous disorders.

Worse, at night; from tough; left side, during rest, warm applications.

Better, open air; from motion, pressure.
