Causes & Symptoms for Osmium Metallicum
Osmium Metallicum is a suitable remedy for tracheal pain, laryngitis and hoarseness.
There is pain in trachea with cough and expectoration of tough, stingy mucus.
There is feeling as though the membrane were torn from larynx.
Talking causes pain in larynx and sternum is sore.
There is twitching of fingers with spasmodic cough.
Head
Feels as if a band around head.
Osmium Metallicum is useful in complaint of Falling off of hair.
Nose
Osmium Metallicum is useful in Coryza, with full feeling in nose. Nose and larynx sensitive to air.
Small lumps of phlegm from posterior nares.
Eyes
Osmium Metallicum is useful in Glaucoma; with iridescent vision.
It helps in Violent supra and infra-orbital neuralgia; violent pains and lachrymation.
Osmium Metallicum is indicated in complaint where Green colors surround candle-light, Conjunctivitis.
Increase in intra-ocular tension, dim sight, photophobia is also helped by Osmium Metallicum.
Respiratory
Osmium Metallicum is useful in Acute laryngitis; cough and expectoration of tough, stringy mucus.
Convulsive cough; feels as though membrane were torn from larynx.
Noisy, dry, hard, cough, in violent short bursts, coming from low down, shaking the whole body indicated Osmium Metallicum.
Talking causes pain in larynx. Hoarse; pain in larynx; sore sternum.
It relieves Twitching of fingers, with spasmodic cough.
Abdomen
Abdomen distended and sensitive, much rumbling.
Osmium Metallicum relieves Pain in groins, that on coughing extended into testicles.
Pressure on inguinal rings is relieved by it.
It is useful for Weakness in groins towards spermatic cords.
Stool and Anus
Diarrhea: nine or ten times daily, preceded or followed by colic, nearly always with black blood (no hemorrhoids), (diarrhea after coffee).
Osmium Metallicum also useful in Constipated stools, small, delayed.
Stool: hard, then soft, orange-colored, dry, full of air, delayed, next day scanty and small, only a small lump like a marble, difficult.
There is Urging but passage of only flatus, urging, then stool, first part hard, then soft, with burning in anus restricting sleep, urging with desire for stool, but evacuation of only a little mucus.
Generalities
Great weakness and prostration (all day, with muddled head and aching limbs and body, on rising, on rising after a restless night).
It relieves Cutting and pinching pains in limbs.
Tearing to and fro deep in right upper side of forehead and in bones of limbs in evening.
There is General sick feeling, Restless.
Skin
Osmium Metallicum is useful in Eczema, with pruritus, Irritated skin.
It helps in Itching pimples.
