Topaz 50 Tablet is a medicine used to treat epilepsy (seizures) and to prevent migraines. It is also used in the treatment of Lennox-Gastaut syndrome (a rare, but severe form of epilepsy that starts in early childhood).

Topaz 50 Tablet 15's is an antiepileptic (AED) medicine that is used to treat epilepsy in mono or adjunctive therapy and migraine. In Monotherapy epilepsy, Topaz 50 Tablet 15's is suggested for patients above 2 years of age with partial-onset or primary generalized tonic-clonic seizures. In Adjunctive therapy epilepsy, Topaz 50 Tablet 15's is suggested in patients of 2 to 16 years of age with partial-onset seizures or primary generalized tonic-clonic seizures while in patients more than 2 years of age, Topaz 50 Tablet 15's is suggested in patients with seizures associated with Lennox-Gastaut syndrome (LGS). In migraine, Topaz 50 Tablet 15's is suggested for prophylaxis of migraine. Topaz 50 Tablet 15's works by blocking the voltage-dependent sodium and calcium channels and increasing the inhibitory actions of GABA. In epilepsy, Topaz 50 Tablet 15's controls the uncontrolled activity of nerves in the brain and thus prevents or controls seizures. While in migraine, Topaz 50 Tablet 15's tranquilizes the overactive nerve cells in the brain that are responsible for causing migraine

ALLERGY
Do not take this medicine if you are allergic to topiramate or any other ingredients in this medicine.
